OLIVIER WIMMER

AGE: 
40

Olivier Wimmer lives and breathes fishing! His passion shows through in his angling, meticulaous in his preparation like many of France's top anglers and it also is very evident in his articles he writes for the biggest fishing magazine in France -LA PECHE ET LES POISSONS where he has worked for over 10 years. Olivier has been involved with Garbolino since 2008 and he is the captain of his team PECHE COMPETITION GARBOLINO 67 who compete in the French national competitions.

Olivier lives close to the German border with France in the European Capital of Strasbourg which means he has to do a lot of travelling to reach other regions of France for a lot of his fishing. Olivier loves to travel for his fishing to learn as much about all styles of fishing he can and has made several journey's to the UK recentky to try and understand more about the UK commercial match scene. He has certainly embraced it and loves shallow fishing for F1's!

He is also the joint captain of the national Under 18 team, who were silver medallists in 2013 and gold medallists in 2014 World Championships.

What Olivier has to say: -

"I have been lucky to meet a lot of different people throughout Europe and learn about their fishing styles. For example, I learnt a lot about slider fishing with my German friends, and Bream fishing with Belgians. This helps me for my role as a journalist and also improves my own fishing so much".
